How To Apply

Facts and news items.
  • We currently have around 70 graduate students, representing over a dozen different countries.
  • Approximately 43% of our graduate students are women. This percentage is well above the national average.
  • One distinctive aspect of our department is its vibrant seminar culture. This is particularly strong among our graduate students, who run 6 different seminars, and are responsible for between one-third to one-half of all our talks each semester.
  • The recently (Summer 2008) formed OU Mathematics Graduate Students Association, MGSA, provides a wealth of mentoring, social activities, and practical resources for new graduate students.
  • The MGSA will make annual awards to graduate students based on their contributions to their peers and to mathematics undergraduates. The MGSA awards program has come into existence due in large part to generous start-up funding provided by the Graduate College and by the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Kudos! Congratulations to our graduate students Jana Talley and Vera Tonic, who have been chosen to present at the AWM Workshop at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Washington DC, Jan 5-8, 2009. We are proud that two OU women are among the 20 nationwide to receive this honor.
