Frames for Undergraduates, by Han, Kornelson, Larson, Weber. Published by the American Mathematical Society.

Homework:

Homework will usually be collected on Fridays. In can be turned in either in class or in my office (PHSC 811) by 5:30 p.m.

Grading

Your grade will be determined by your work on the homework assignments, midterm exam, and final project, as well as your participation in the course (see discussion below). The weights of each of these are shown below.

Homework	30 %
Participation/In class activities	20%
Midterm Exam	25%
Final Project (presentation and paper)	25%

Participation:

The participation component of your grade will include at least the following requirements, with possibly a few more being added as the semester progresses.

Attend class, participate in discussions and in-class activities.
Arrange a 15-minute meeting with me during the first 2 weeks of classes.
Attend 2 appropriate mathematical talks/events in Math Club , Graduate Student Seminar , OU Mathfest, or another appropriate venue. Write a 1-page summary of the topic and the presentation.
Read the Math Club blog (click here: ) and post comments/questions when you see something interesting.
Complete the exit interview which the math department will set up with you at the end of the semester (if you are graduating this semester).

Some Important Dates

Last day to withdraw with an automatic W: Friday, February 27, 2009.
Spring Break: March 16-20, 2009.
Last day to withdraw with a W/F without petitioning the Dean's office: Friday, April 3, 2009.
