 My research interests include:
mapping class groups, discrete geometry, low-dimensional topology, geometric group theory.
Some completed projects related to mapping class groups are on arithmetic quotients of
mapping class groups, random walks in the Torelli subgroup, and lower bounds for dilatations of
pseudo-Anosov classes. In related work, I (in joint work with others) related algebraic and
topological properties of curves. In discrete geometry, I studied combinatorial rigidity of symmetric
        frameworks.
