Application Procedure for Graduate Students / Graduate Assistants

To apply for our graduate program, please follow these steps.

• Click here for the Mathematics Department Graduate Application Form. You may submit this form online, or download it, print it out, and send it with the material below to the Mathematics Department.
• Send the following material directly to the Mathematics Department (including the University of Oklahoma forms mentioned below; we will forward everything to the Office of Admissions). To ensure full consideration, please make sure that we have your complete application by January 31, 2010. We will also consider applications received after this date, but we rarely consider applications made after May 31. International applicants should be aware of the University's April 1 deadline.
  • Transcripts - Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attented.
  • GRE scores - We strongly encourage all students to take the General GRE. The current GRE institution and department code list can be found here.
  • TOEFL scores - If English is not your native language, we need official copies of your TOEFL scores. Check here for the Graduate College's English proficiency requirements.
  • Domestic students and permanent residents: University of Oklahoma application forms can be found here. Download and fill out the Fall 2009 Graduate Admission/Readmission Application form in the US citizens/permanent residents box (Norman campus programs).
  • International students: University of Oklahoma application forms can be found here. Download and fill out the Fall 2009 Graduate Admission Application form in the International Admmissions box (Norman campus programs).
  • Application fee - The University of Oklahoma application forms request an application fee. Please send the appropriate application fee with your other application materials directly to the Mathematics Department. By sending your application fee directly to the Mathematics Department, we can try to ensure that it is only processed in the event that we make you an offer of admission.
• Ask three persons familiar with your work in mathematics to send reference letters directly to the Mathematics Department. Please ask your reference writers to use this form. They may mail, fax or email their letters using the contact information listed below.

Important: Send all your application materials to the above address, including the University of Oklahoma (International) Application for Admission form. You do not need to send any material to the Office of Admissions.
