Abstract Moy and Prasad introduced a general notion of depth for complex representations of p-adic groups. There is also a natural notion of depth for Langlands parameters involving the ramification groups of the absolute Galois group of the base field. We will first describe cases in which the local Langlands preserves the depth. Next we will exhibit some examples of widely ramified situations in which the correspondence increases the depth and another ones in which it decreases it.
