Abstract I will discuss how to construct p-adic L-functions for certain Rankin-Selberg convolutions over totally real fields via modular symbols. A special case of this construction gives the p-adic L-function of a modular form, whose construction goes back to Mazur, Manin and Swinnerton-Dyer.
